Kill Switch

If you suspect you've been scammed, use the Kill Switch to immediately block all of your account activity.

Activate Kill Switch via Interactive Voice Response (IVR)

Kill Switch will:

  • block all incoming and outgoing transactions for all of your bank accounts, including sole and joint current or savings account/-i and HSBC HomeSmart/-i
  • suspend your online banking and mobile banking app access

You should only activate it if you think you've been scammed.

Activate Kill Switch from a registered mobile number

You can activate Kill Switch via the HSBC or HSBC Amanah contact centre interactive voice response (IVR) if you're enrolled for phone banking services.

You can do this by following these steps. Please call us using your registered mobile number.

  1. Call the HSBC contact centre or HSBC Amanah contact centre.
  2. Select the star key "*" on your mobile device keypad to access the emergency service menu.
  3. Select 1 to suspend current and/or savings account/-i access, and/or online banking and mobile banking access.
  4. Select 1 to confirm the request.
  5. End the call, or select 0 if your credit card/-i is compromised and you'll be able to speak to a customer service representative.
